Aeration in the fall or early spring is very important in order to produce a thick, healthy lawn. Over time, your lawn creates a layer of thatch and deprives your lawn of the oxygen and nutrients it needs to thrive. Aeration allows the perforating of soil with small holes to allow air, water and nutrients to penetrate the grass roots. This process breaks up thatch enabling your lawn to breathe again. Therefore fertilizer, water, and oxygen are allowed to get to the roots. This results in a stronger more vigorous lawn.
